Looking for a reputable, experienced and passionate adventure activity provider then find out here why so many people choose to use Freelance Adventures.
Since 2002, Freelance Adventures has been providing a comprehensive range of outdoor services around the North Island, including: * Outdoor instruction * Operating school and community camps and activity programmes * Delivering the Wilderness Adventure and Community Challenge section of Project K programmes * Running corporate adventure days * Running school holiday programmes * Managing facilities (like Kokako Lodge and the Hunua Falls Presbyterian Camp) * Managing adventure activities for venues including Mighty River Domain at Lake Karapiro and CastleRock Adventure in Wharepapa South, Waikato. Plus, we don’t mean to brag, but over the past nine years we’ve cooked at least 5000 pancakes in our Great Pancake Race – yum.
INSTRUCTORS While our head office is based in Auckland, it’s important to us that we use local instructors who have local knowledge and are passionate about their local community and resources. All instructors are police vetted, assessed against the national qualification framework and hold current first aid certificates.
ABOUT BRENTON Director and sales manager Brenton Harrison has been passionate about the outdoors for as long as he can remember, so it was only natural that he set up an outdoors company to share his passion with others. Over the past decade he’s been involved in all facets of the industry, including Auckland Search and Rescue, the NZ Mountain Safety Council, industrial height operations, instructing for YMCA’s Camp Adair holiday programmes and instructing in all areas, from campfire building to caving. If there was ever a question about the outdoors on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, you’d definitely want Brenton as your Phone a Friend option. Brenton is a Skills Active NZQA Assessor for outdoor recreation and an accredited safety auditor – Freelance Adventures puts a massive emphasis on safety in the outdoors, making it their top priority. He also holds a pre-hospital first aid course qualification and is the Auckland chair and national representative for Education Outdoors New Zealand (EONZ). When he’s not helping people live their adventures or eating piles of pancakes in the line of duty, Brenton likes spending time with his wife and two young boys and enjoys mountain biking and the odd ocean swim.
